We leave a penny on my grandfather’s tombstone!
Thanks to all the teachers who attended my workshop at the Maine Social Studies Conference. We talked a lot about memorials and why people continue to leave items at the WALL in DC. https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/the-things-they-left-selections-from-30-years-of-objects-at-the-vietnam-wall/2015/03/02/33226ba8-b910-11e4-aa05-1ce812b3fdd2_story.html
