What do we want children to learn about Africa in 2018!

I wrote this piece a few years ago, but it is very relevant for 2018!

As we teach children about the big wide world we must be mindful about the knowledge and information we share with them. The images and stories children see and hear form their base of reality.

The pictures and words in books, movies, games and on maps  help or hinder children in building a foundation of appreciation and respect for humanity in all its diversity.
